To get to know our new employee we collected some facts...
- Full Name: Sefi Cohen
- Home country: Israel 🇮🇱
- Location: Team Barcelona 🇪🇸
- Position: Backend Development
Born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel. After finishing an obligatory 3-year military service I started a job as an air-crew member and was positioned to fly both on wide and narrow-body aircrafts (that basically means flying both to Europe and North America/Asia), that was when I understood I was fascinated by new places and cultures, eager to explore the world and live somewhere else but my hometown.
9 years ago I relocated to Madrid as part of my job in the Israeli embassy. I was stationed at the airports of Madrid and Lisbon and was in charge of performing security processes (data-driven investigations delivered in cooperation with the security team) for both passengers and cargo, flying to Tel Aviv on commercial Israeli flights.
During those 7 years of working for the embassy, I was sent to different countries, mostly in Europe, such as London, Berlin, Rome, Kyiv, Zagreb, and more.
In my ultimate position there I was promoted to cargo security supervisor and was in charge of 3-5 employees each shift.
2 years ago when Covid 19 struck, I found myself without a job and that was when I decided to start coding. I signed up for a bootcamp and learned Ruby and Ruby on rails, relational DB, and mostly backend.
How did I find out about MVST?
As part of a hiring week we had in the last week of the Master's program, we were introduced to Philipp and Marcel who in their turn presented the company.
Why a Full stack position at MVST?
The day before meeting Philipp and Marcel in Barcelona, I looked up the company's website. I could very much relate to the company spirit as I perceived itteamworkrk, team presentation, clear and transparent design, accessibility, and values). I had a great first impression of the company both from the website and also a day later on the get-to-know presentation at Assembler.
