Tell Us About Yourself!
My name is Paula, I'm Brazilian. I have a 6-month-old dog named Bento. I moved a lot when I was a child, living in various places, including Teresina, São Paulo, Brasília, Champaign-Urbana (Illinois, USA), Toronto (Canada), Florianópolis, and now, Aracaju, in the Northeast region of Brazil. I initially pursued a degree in environmental engineering, but I soon realized it wasn't the right fit for me. I then transitioned to software development, which was love at first sight. I’m truly passionate about coding — it's something I'm completely addicted to.
What Do You Consider to Be Your Greatest Professional Achievement So Far?
I believe my greatest achievement has been having the courage to change my career path to become a software developer.
How Do You Maintain a Good Work-Life Balance?
Honestly, I’m still working on it. I do enjoy taking long walks with my dog every day, and I love spending weekends at the beach. Exercise is something I need to work on more, though fun fact — I used to play handball in school and even competed in championships, which I really loved. In the evenings, whenever I get the chance, I like to unwind by watching series.
What's the Most Adventurous Thing You've Ever Done, and What Did You Learn from It?
Changing careers was the most adventurous thing I've ever done. It was terrifying but turned out to be the best decision I’ve ever made. I learned that you can’t be afraid to make changes, and there's no single "right" path to follow. You need to stay true to yourself and pursue whatever makes you happy.
