Tell us a little bit about your background
I think a person's background is directly related to how they act and who they are, and since people tend to see me as "the guy with the big smile on his face", I guess that's a nice indicator that I'm proud of what I do.
I am absolutely blessed and grateful! I found my work passion quite young when I was 11 years old. Believe it or not, since then I already knew that I would like to "build websites" for a living. When I was 11, I built a horrible website where people could kinda-maybe-totally-legally download free games and never stopped making stuff ever since. The world changed, and websites are now called applications or [fancier] digital products but the constant was my passion for creating them.
Fast forward a few years and I was founding companies, mentoring people, creating mobile apps with more than 20 million downloads, and traveling around the world to showcase the things we were doing. You don't often have the opportunity to do something that helps millions of people around the world. In retrospect, I am sure that these experiences only happened as I was lucky to be surrounded by great people with a shared passion.
That passion made me learn how to code better, how to design better, how to communicate better, how to study better, and how to teach better. It is crazy to reflect on that. I guess we all need to find our niche and that will naturally make us thrive. Luckily, I found mine.
How did you find out about MVST?
I personally know Niklas and Philipp and they reached out to me for an informal coffee just to chat about the things they were doing, no strings attached. The more I heard the more amazed I got. We talked about the synergies between us and I could physically feel the great atmosphere when I left the room. The moment I left our first conversation (there were several) I was already sure that we would be working together soon. The rest will be history.
What was your main reason for choosing the CTO position at MVST?
That's twofold. First and foremost, we have a magic team that is able to deliver top-notch experiences and I want to be part of that! Second, I know I can support them in doing just that, so that's a virtuous cycle I didn't want to miss! 😉
