Designing with Data: How MVST Transformed Linearity’s User Experience

In July 2025, MVST teamed up with Linearity to reimagine their user experience, leveraging insights from an already active product. With a solid base of existing metrics, we had a clear starting point to identify areas for improvement and set measurable goals to enhance user interaction and engagement within Linearity’s design tools.

The Challenge

Our main challenge was to transform the UX/UI design by leveraging Linearity's existing user metrics as a foundation for strategic improvement. Rather than making superficial changes, we aimed to enhance the entire onboarding journey, ensuring it was not only visually appealing but also intuitive, engaging, and aligned with long-term user retention. The task involved rethinking user interaction touchpoints and crafting a seamless flow from onboarding to regular usage.

The Solutions

  • Metrics-Driven Enhancements: We began by analyzing key user metrics to identify pain points and prioritize improvements. This data-informed approach ensured that our solutions targeted real user needs and provided measurable value.
  • Onboarding Concepts: By exploring multiple onboarding designs, we created a roadmap for an optimal first-time user experience. Each version focused on different engagement strategies, with a view to launching versions that maximize interaction and minimize drop-off.
  • Qualitative User Interviews: To go beyond the numbers, we conducted interviews with real users, gaining insights into their preferences, frustrations, and usage patterns. This feedback helped us fine-tune features aimed at reducing churn and boosting long-term engagement.
  • Feedback Integration: Recognizing the importance of ongoing user input, we designed feedback models that allowed Linearity to gather insights directly in-app and in the app store. This model empowers Linearity to track evolving user sentiment and respond quickly to future needs.

Our collaboration with Linearity resulted in a thoughtfully redesigned UX/UI experience. By grounding our design choices in both data and direct user insights, we not only improved the onboarding journey but also established a framework for ongoing user engagement. The metric-based and feedback-driven approach ensures that future iterations can adapt to user expectations, supporting Linearity's commitment to delivering a standout design experience.
